We are seeking highly motivated, creative individuals looking to train as business brokers. A business broker is a professional who assists in the buying and selling of businesses, helping to connect buyers and sellers while also acting as an intermediary throughout the process.
The assistance provided by a business broker covers a wide variety of tasks including:
- helping buyers determine what type of business they are looking for
- helping sellers prepare their business for sale
- helping buyers find businesses that meet their criteria
- helping sellers arrive at a value for their company
- helping buyers analyze a business for sale
- helping select other members of the sales transaction team
- developing a marketing plan for sellers
- preparing necessary documentation to market the company
- identifying prospective buyers
- interviewing, qualifying and informing prospective buyers
- attending meetings and completing paperwork
- negotiating details
- managing the due diligence process
- coordinating closing activities
By assisting business owners in selling their business we are paid a transaction success fee which is normally 10% of the transaction amount, with a minimum commission of $10,000.
Good people skills and Bachelors degree in a business related discipline are required. Also should be able to understand Income Statements and Balance sheets. This is a commission only position and you can expect to make between $50,000 and $500,000 per year. Also due to the length of the sales cycles you should expect a 4 to 6 month period to elapse before you get that first commission check.

- Comfortable working in a commission only position with high commission potential

- Facilitate negotiations between buyers and sellers
- Multi-task, work well under stress, and maintain focus for the duration of the deal process
- Be an excellent speaker and be able to think on their feet.

- Do I need a License?
State of Texas does not require a real estate license in business only transaction, but since real estate is included in sale of businesses many times, each business broker should obtain a real estate license. Many of our new Business Brokers start with us and get their training & orientation while they get their real estate license.
- Where do good Business Brokers come from?
While our Brokers come from all “walks of life”…many of our successful team have sales, or financial backgrounds and many have been past business owners
- Will I be trained?
V-AID will provide a comprehensive training and a mentoring program between the managing director and the Business Brokers which ensures each broker achieves their individual level of comfort with all aspects of the business brokerage process
- How am I compensated?
This is a commission based position; most Business Brokers take 4 to 6 months to start generating commissions. While the range of compensation varies greatly, the best Brokers in the industry earn over $500,000 per year. A good broker can comfortably earn a good six figure income if they are diligent and hard working.
- How many Business Brokers are there?
There is a common misconception that there are a lot more business brokers today than ever before or that the United States is saturated with them. Neither is true. In fact, the number of business brokers has remained fairly static over the years.
